0011 - Enclosed Damper set for CRC MetriCKs
0011 - Enclosed Damper set for CRC MetriCKs
This is a 3D printed enclosed damper set.
It replaces the exposed vertical damper rod, damper cup, damper caps, as well as the 4 16mm alum standoffs between the battery plate and the tweak plate.
The damper set includes everything you need to assemble and install the dampers except the dampening grease.
2 - Damper Tube Blocks (L&R)
2 - Damper Rods
2 - Damper Rod Catches (L&R)
6 - M3x5mm flat head screws
2 - M3x10mm button head screws
These dampers are printed in a Polycarbonate material. The material has a very shiny surface and it makes getting a nice clean closeup photo very difficult. The pieces actually come out very nice and are very functional.
You will need some heavy grease, like the 150K sold by eXcelerate. This style damper requires a much heavier grease than the Kyosho line of grease that was previously recommended for the MetriCKs car. No grease is included.
Be sure to NOT over-tighten the screws in the dampers or they will strip. If you strip a screw and it will not hold tension, you can apply a small drop of CA on the screw, than reinstall to hopefully hold the screw tight.
It is important to pay attention to which screws you use to install the damper tube. The rear screw MUST be one of the included M3x5 flathead screws. If you use anything longer, it will press the plastic up into the tube barrel and it will no longer be smooth and free. It you make this mistake, you will need to remove rod and use a 4mm reamer or #21 numbered drill bit to try to smooth out the barrel.
The other two M3x5 are used on the damper catches. You can use the stock screws on the front of the damper tube as well as the tweak/top plate.
